Roads to Migrate – Humanitarian Situation in Azez, Gizem Dik Hosts Şebinur Doğan.
In the fourth episode of the Roads to Migrate, Gizem Dik hosts Şebinur Doğan, from Boğaziçi University, to talk about the humanitarian situation in Azez. According to Doğan, the conditions in Syria are completely inhumane and the lives of people depend almost entirely on humanitarian aid. Moreover, although humanitarian aid in Syria still continues very seriously, projects that will provide long-term benefits are definitely needed.
In addition, Doğan underlines that despite the historical ties between Turkey and Syria, there is an increasing racism and hostility towards Syria in Turkey, and this growing racism has been tried to be justified under the motto of nationalism.
